Presentation: Canine, Labrador, 10-year-old, male neutered
Presenting Owner Complaint: Depression and thinks is in pain
Examination Findings: Depressed attitude, resistance and reduced range-of-motion in cervical area
Asymmetrical hypothermia dorsally over cervical and the first few thoracic vertebrae.
Asymmetrical hypothermia throughout distal forelimbs.
Dorsal asymmetrical hypothermia on lateral views of shoulders. Asymmetrical hyperthermia over both shoulders. Area over right shoulder is more intense and involves a larger area.
Radiographic Findings:
Areas of asymmetrical hypothermia correlate with dermatomes of spinal nerves C6-7, T1. Areas of compensatory hyperthermia over shoulders suspected to be secondary to compensation.
